Terms of Service — Semester Copilot

1. Introduction

Welcome to Semester Copilot. By using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Service

Semester Copilot is an academic productivity tool that integrates with Canvas LMS to provide assignment tracking, grade simulation, syllabus parsing, and study tools.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account via Clerk. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when connecting your Canvas account via access tokens.

4. Canvas Integration

By providing a Canvas access token, you authorize Semester Copilot to access and pull academic data from your institution's Canvas instance on your behalf. We do not store your Canvas password. You can revoke this access at any time by deleting your token in the settings panel.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Certain features require a paid subscription. Billing is handled through Stripe. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to change our pricing upon notice.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any data or files (such as syllabus PDFs) you upload. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the services to you.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the service for any illegal purpose, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, or to interfere with the proper working of the service.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time if you violate these terms. You may delete your account and data at any time through the application settings.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the academic data pulled from Canvas will always be perfectly synchronized.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Semester Copilot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
